Images of Release is a collaborative project which aims to offer viewers an insight as to how someone returning to the community after having served sentences views the world. It is a reflective and understanding project for both its participants, curators and viewers.
This exhibition is in collaboration between Corrine West Photography and Media, and Soft Touch Arts. Soft Touch Arts is a charity who established in 1986. They use art, media and music to make positive life changes to disadvantaged young people.
The photographic contributors attended a series of workshops on the run-up to this exhibition, then were asked to reflect on what is important to them. Some participants used digital images and others used a film camera. This project aimed to help provide a new skill for its contributors and assisted them in using photography in a positive, reflective way.
Special thanks to all the contributors for your commitment and hard work!
A huge thank you to Soft Touch Arts and Lisa Selby for your involvement in this exhibition.
Also, a very special thank you to Kieran Walsh and for your contribution to this project!
